Sterlite EdIndia Foundation’s ongoing initiative the ‘State Level Teaching Plan Competition 2025' to empower future teachers

Sterlite EdIndia Foundation, in partnership with the Chhattisgarh State Education and Research Council (SCERT), has rolled out the 'State Level Teaching Plan Competition 2025', an innovative step towards enhancing the quality of teacher training at the state level. Now in its third year, the competition aims to set new standards in training the educators of tomorrow, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical classroom application.

The competition, held on Saturday, 5 April 2025, marks a significant step in the foundation's broader mission to revolutionise teacher training in India. The competition serves as a key component of a larger pre-service teacher education program that integrates live teaching demonstrations with expert feedback, ensuring that participants are not only knowledgeable but also fully prepared to inspire and lead their students effectively from day one.

Dekeshwar Verma, D.El.Ed. Cell Incharge SCERT, "The State Level Teaching Plan Competition is an essential initiative in our state’s educational landscape. It empowers future educators with the practical tools and skills they need to succeed and inspire their students. Through programs like these, we are setting a benchmark for teacher training that will have a lasting impact on the educational sector across India. We are proud of our partnership with Sterlite EdIndia Foundation in shaping the future of education in Chhattisgarh.”

Sonakshi Agarwal, Managing Director of Sterlite EdIndia Foundation, shared, “Our initiative is about more than just classroom teaching; it’s about shaping educators who can inspire, engage, and instill a love for learning in students. By focusing on practical skills, cultural values, and innovation, we are investing in the future of education in India.”

The event saw 36 student-teachers from 18 district training institutions across Chhattisgarh compete, showcasing their teaching plans through live demonstrations. The event took place in 2 phases, with 1000 student PSTs participating in the first phase, and only 36 making it to the second phase where 18 were recognised as winners. As part of the competition, participants were judged by experts, with winners being recognised for their excellence. The recognition ceremony, where certificates, prize money, and medals were awarded, celebrated the hard work and achievements of the participants. The ceremony was graced by dignitaries including Mrs. Pushpa Kishfotta, the chief guest, Professor Alok Sharma, Deputy Principal of CET, Dakeshwar Verma, DL Ed Branch In-charge of SCERT, and from Sterlite EdIndia Foundation, Director Mrs. Sonakshi Agarwal and head of the foundation Antony Nellissery.

This initiative is a testament to the power of collaboration, with Sterlite EdIndia Foundation and the state government working hand-in-hand to improve the quality of teacher education. The program focuses on academic skills while integrating cultural heritage and values, empowering future educators to make a meaningful impact in their communities.

Sterlite EdIndia Foundation is committed to supporting initiatives that contribute to improving teacher training and educational infrastructure through collaborative efforts with key stakeholders.
